The Esplanade is an elegant bathroom collection for 2011, developed by Duravit in cooperation with Russian-German architect Sergei Tchoban. The elements featured (cabinet, tub, shelving unit, bidet) are approached in a highly modern manner and the partially-wooden finish gives them a “daily furniture look”. The originality of these designs doesn’t just come from the strong contrast between the white ceramic and wood, but it also resides in the shape of the items. Seen on Trendir, the whole collection can be characterized by the clean, simple and stylish design approach. Used together or individually, the items in the Esplanade collection will add charm and glamor. Their subtle color palette makes them suited for a large variety of contemporary bathrooms.

From 10 to 24 March 2010, IKEA develops an interesting event in four important metro stations in Paris. Furniture collections are currently displayed in high-traffic spots, giving the potential customers a chance to interact with the brand by checking out the products. The subway walls are also filled with prints that showcase IKEA interiors. What a creative way to do advertising! “The buildings are designed to protect from views of neighbouring villas, heightening the experience of the vast horizon beyond. The interior spaces merge with exterior spaces, all of which are designed to allow ocean breezes under shade from the sun, throughout the year. Light at sunset rakes through trees, casting dappled sunlight on the light stone floors in the evening. Rangr Studio designed the gigantic window/doors to pivot effortlessly on ball bearings, with very thin frames, made of a South-American hardwood as strong as steel. Two finishes of local coral stone make up much of the wall and floor finish.“
